If you are ready to get involved at Terra Nova, there are few simple things we encourage everyone to do. You’ll find plenty more in the HOW WE LIVE section of this site. Follow up questions can be sent HERE.
You will never get to know every single person you see at church on Sunday, but you can get to know 10-15 people in someones living room. Tribes provide you with an opportunity for small group worship, bible study, prayer and community. Some churches will call them small groups, or community groups. Whatever you call it, the point is that you cannot do the Christian life alone. You need to be in community. Our Tribes are scattered throughout the capital region so there is probably one near where you live. Join a Tribe by emailing our Discipleship Pastor, Daniel Williams HERE.
On an average Sunday, you will be served by roughly 40 volunteers in one way or another. Some will lead you in worship from the stage, others will hand you a guidepage, or serve you communion, or take care of your children, or set up the chair you sit on. Being a part of a community means that you do your share to help that community function well. The side benefit of serving is that you end up getting to know people pretty quickly. Listen closely to the announcements on Sunday to hear the current serving needs. If you are passionate about serving in a particular area that you don’t hear mentioned, just speak up and we’ll be happy to help you find your spot.
Nucleus is your chance to interact with a couple of the pastors in a more relaxed environment. You’ll gain a better understanding of why we do what we do, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions. If you choose to become a member of Terra Nova, Nucleus Class is required. Currently Nucleus Class is offered once a month on a Monday night. Keep an eye on the GUIDEPAGE and The City (our Online Community) to see when the next class will be offered.
