As most of you know, Terra Nova is very involved with the Acts 29 Network of Church Planters. We have the privilege of serving the Northeast as the regional center church, and our Lead Pastor, Ed Marcelle serves as both a board member and the Northeast Regional Coordinator. As a result, Terra Nova often finds itself in the unique position (as only a three year old church) of impacting other planting and non-planting pastors. Tomorrow, Feb. 9th, we will host roughly 80 pastors from throughout the Northeast here in Troy for a regional event titled COMMUNITY EXTENSION::expanding your missional footprint. For those who attend Terra Nova, you will pick up on the theme carried over from Sunday’s services, the scheduling of that was on purpose. While we are often doing only a small portion of the teaching–or in some cases, none at all . . . we get to facilitate the learning by hosting, planning and running these events. We love being given that opportunity.Â
In addition to regional events, your pastors often have an opportunity to speak on issues related to church planting at various conferences. Last week, Pastor Ed was in Raleigh, NC at Acts 29′s Vintage21 church speaking at a church planters bootcamp. Pastor Phil was in Dallas, TX speaking to other Executive Pastors whose churches are planning to plant sometime soon. Often times, a well placed conversation, or explanation of some of the mistakes and wins we had at Terra Nova go a long way in impacting the course and life of a church planter, and his future congregation.Â
For those who call Terra Nova home-we would ask you to continue to pray for Terra Nova’s impact on the church planting movement, especially in the Northeast where we sense our greatest calling.
