Back in September after hearing Ben Skinner speak at Terra Nova on Abolition Sunday we initiated our first ever church wide activist effort. We sent over 200 letters to our New York State Senators asking them to push forward S.3061 “The William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008″ sponsored by Senators Joe Biden (now VP elect) and Sam Brownback. We are pleased to report that on 12/10/2008 the bill was passed into law by both the House and the Senate!

Let’s thank God for government leaders who in the midst of other significant crisis moved forward on this bill, and for giving our congregation a chance to participate in the democratic process. Read more about this bill by clicking on the link above.
