My four year old daughter Lily has been asking questions about heaven lately. We’ve been telling her that she needs Jesus to give her a new heart because hers in broken and that only Jesus can fix it. Well, a couple of nights ago, she came walking down the stairs around 9:30PM (an hour and a half after her bed time) and said “mommy, how do I go to heaven?” This is a question that every Christ following parent waits for. So, we dropped what we were doing and Lily crawled up onto Aimee’s lap. Aimee said “Well, we’ve been talking about how you need to ask Jesus for a new heart”. Before Aimee could get another sentance out, Lily interupted and said plaintively “But I already did that mommy!” We asked her when she did that, and Lily said, “Just a minute ago, up in bed”. We asked her what she said exactly, and she said “I asked Jesus to give me a new heart, and a better attitude, and to listen to mommy and daddy, and to be nice to Evie (her 2 year old sister) and to give me a purple room”. So, we asked her a few more questions to see if she really understood what she had done, and it appeared that in her own 4 year old way, she really had sought God’s grace and forgiveness through genuine repentance. So, Terra Nova has a new Christ follower! I know that her many wonderful TN Kids teachers played a role in this, and I thank you all.
[By the way, the picture above was taken on good friday 2006. Aimee had taken this giant cross home to get it ready for TN'S good friday service and we left the room and found Lily falling asleep with her head on the cross--what a picture!]

Brother, we rejoice and praise God with you!
