yup. daisy baker’s is great, as is monument square cafe and loporto’s. all of those are high-priced but great “date” places.

been to daisy baker’s? Had a great dinner with Diane there. A fancy fare, atmosphere and price, but a really cool room.

yeah, i was at flavour last night just before their indie film night. tonight, you should check out the “wal-mart is evil” local movie screening at the linda norris/wamc auditorium in albany. it’s a free way to get in to see that space… ps- you’ve got to try flavour cafe’s chicken focaccia!

I’ve heard Flavour Cafe also hosts “open screen” nights. Similar to an open mic, but made for local indie-film makers to show their art. We all may want to check it out some night. I would love to connect with local film makers.

Although, I hear Flavour Cafe’s pride is their multiple flavors of coffee. Personally, that’s disgusting. I know it worked for Baskin Robbins, but we don’t need Sugar Cookie flavored coffee, or Pumkin Pie, etc. Those poor farmers in Costa Rica would rip Flavour Cafe apart with their rakes if they ever knew…….Just give me a quality Kona or a perfect 23 second double espresso.

ed-got a sitter for this sunday. plan is to get kids in bed after church and meet fellow terra-rists out where ever terra-rists meet.

erika-you rock girl. already took in a dinner for 10 at taylors. can we get in on another one though, this time at your place? what’s the protocol on these dinners? i don’t want to appear greedy…maybe we should host one…

yeah, thanks for the correction. i guess the tap room is one component to brown's.

i will look in the car seats and couch cushions for the million dollars to fix the roof of the old tap room.

is perecca's [sp?] bakery still operating in Troy?

ed, you mentioned eating at “the tap room” and a red flag went up. that used to be a great troy namesake, actually, and the building where it was housed (on third street) is up for auction. it’s yours for one cent, if you bid on it, but then you’ll need a million dollars to stabilize the roof…

so i suppose you’re really talking about brown’s brewery. another good place for a drink (beer from everywhere in the world, all available in troy) is holmes & watson on broadway in troy. check it out.

thanks for the shameless plug for all things troy, groffster (as my friend calls me), snot and being missional. it’s “doing the stuff,” as john wimber would say… sorry the ceiling was being held just barely over your head during dinner. we’ll get to that soon…

as for cool places to eat in troy, try flavour cafe (near vanilla bean on fourth street), i love ny pizza (CHEAP), defazio’s (read: oven-baked pizza done by an italian family), o’leahy’s, francesca’s, and the beat goes on (not a real place, in case you’re wondering where “the beat goes on” is, though that would be a cool name for a music-themed eatery).
